Cancelled – Sound as Sight: Marsh Edition Soundwalk with Andy Slater

Due to unforeseen circumstances, this soundwalk, Sound as Sight, is cancelled. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause!

Above all, we are thankful for everyone who came out and listened with us in the parks this summer and for all of the teaching artists who were our guides and teachers.

Until next year! 🌱🌳☀️

Join the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology for our summer soundwalk series! Explore the beautiful nature of the Chicago Public Parks in an experience led by faculty and alumni from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and other local teaching artists. This series is in partnership with Chicago Park District and Night Out In the Parks which brings arts and culture to over 500 parks across the city, free and open for public participation.

Sound As Sight

Hegewisch Marsh Park

13298 S Torrence Ave, Chicago, IL 60633

September 8th, 2023, 6-7pm

Blind sound artist and hyper active listener, Andy Slater will lead this sound walk using  aesthetics of multi sensory wayfinding and multi modal listening. During the walk the group will be encouraged to explore how all of their senses improve or interrupt their experience. At the end group members will be encouraged to discuss just how weird this soundwalk was.
