solarise: a sea of all colors art installation will be on display from September 23, 2015 through September 22, 2016. The solarise exhibit at Garfield Park Conservatory, is a series of light and sculptural environments created by Luftwerk - Chicago artists Petra Bachmaier and Sean Gallero.
Todd Brethauer, a volunteer from the United States Botanic Gardens, will share his extensive knowledge on the botany, history and production of fruit in these two lectures on Saturday, October 3, 2015. The lecture on Apples & Pears starts at 12:30 pm and the Citrus lecture at 1:45 pm. In between lectures, attendees will sample different fruits. Adults and youth 13 and older are welcome to attend.
Simple and sustainable living is happening all around our busy city. City folk are keeping bees, caring for goats, making compost, and harvesting organic fruits and vegetables to feed their families. Come join us Sunday, September 13th for this celebration of urban pioneer living on the Outdoor Lawns & Gardens at Garfield Park Conservatory!
