“Listening for the Future”

July 9—11, 2010

.
News of the results of the American Society for Acoustic Ecology’s first-ever national symposium and Board of Directors’ retreat is spreading. Hosted by the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology and World Listening Project, Listening for the Future helped raise awareness of acoustic ecology in Chicago, and it is hoped, positions the ASAE for a more active role in building awareness about acoustic ecology, and helping individuals who seek to actively engage and apply its ideas and practices through more effective leadership.

Eric Leonardson’s report about Listening for the Future was published in the September/October 2010 World Forum for Acoustic Ecology (WFAE) Newsletter. New York Society for Acoustic Ecology member and ASAE Treasurer, Edmund Mooney reported on Listening for the Future for the 2010 issue of Soundscape, The Journal of Acoustic Ecology.
