Arts & Nature Calumet 50th Anniversary Celebration, NPS Centennial

anniversarylogoJoin us for ”Arts & Nature in the Calumet Region & Nationwide” at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore celebrating its 50th Anniversary and the National Park Service’s Centennial.

Free admission, all ages

Activities include:

  • Soundwalk at 11:00 a.m. along the Miller Trail co-led by MaryAm Ghadiri and Ben Gottesman
  • Nature-inspired art making for youth and adults (ongoing)
  • Poetry readings and performances 1-3:00 p.m.

Art making activities include leaf poem collage, mixed media artworks, poetry readings and performances for and by youth and adults from the Calumet Region, including Gary and Chicago.

This event is a partnership of Borderbend Arts Collective with the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, Calumet Artist Residency, Center for Global Soundscapes, and Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology.
