Membership Invitation: Call for New WFAE Representative

Seeking MSAE Representative for World Forum for Acoustic Ecology Board

At our Annual General Meeting on March 18, we bid farewell to Alex Braidwood after four years of dedicated service as the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology’s representative on the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology (WFAE) Board of Directors. We are now seeking a new representative and welcome all interested MSAE members to consider this opportunity. We are also happy that Alex remains an active member on our board. Please reach out to MSAE’s President to express your interest or consult the WFAE’s website for further details.

As an organizational affiliate of the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology (WFAE), the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology (MSAE) selects a member to serve on the WFAE’s Board of Directors. This position is voluntary, as outlined in the WFAE bylaws. Each affiliated organization of the WFAE holds one vote on the board, designated through their nominated representative. The term of service for the WFAE Rep is two years, with no limit on reappointment. Responsibilities include upholding and advancing the WFAE’s mission and purpose, participating in board and committee meetings, and avoiding conflicts of interest. The benefits of serving include engaging with leadership in a progressive organization and contributing to the evolving understanding of sound and listening during this pivotal global moment. Directors may be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out their duties.

For further details, please contact MSAE President Eric Leonardson or refer to the WFAE’s website.
