Sarah Clewett is a musician, Deep Listener, and board-certified music therapist residing in Chicago, IL with a background in Western classical music and free improvisation. She currently works at the Institute for Therapy through the Arts (ITA) as a music therapist in the Chicago Public Schools, various community-based organizations, and with private clients. Sarah has an M.A. in Music Therapy from NYU and obtained her level 1 certification in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music. She is also certified in Deep Listening, a philosophy founded by musician and composer Pauline Oliveros.
Sarah has performed in the Silkroad Global Musician Workshop and the Cheltenham Improvisers Orchestra Workshop in Cheltenham, UK. She also performed with the London Improvisers Orchestra in London, UK and was a performer in “Lanalog” by Michael Bullock and Linda Aubry Bullock, a six-hour durational performance at the Wave Farm in Acra, NY.
In 2017, Sarah released an album with her ambient/soundscape duo, Cloth, a collaboration with composer Jason Koth. The album, “settle, repose” was originally inspired by sound recordings she made while studying abroad in London.
