Midwest Society of Acoustic Ecology is happy to announce its sixth series with the Chicago Park District’s Night Out In the Parks program. Night Out in the Parks activates parks across the city with robust cultural events.
Join MSAE in six sonic experiences led by faculty and alumni from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and fellow teaching artists for a unique outdoor experience for all ages. Experience the sounds of Chicago and its nature from a new perspective!
Presented by Mayor Lori Lightfoot, Night Out In the Parks brings arts and culture to over 500 parks across the city, free and open for public participation. All events are FREE!
Every event in the series will observe and be in compliance with City of Chicago and Chicago Park District health and safety guidelines.

Resurgence: Slag, Moss, Soil, Air Norman W. Long, and Sara Zalek Norman W. Long and Sara Zalek will lead a guided soundwalk following the recovery of the soundscape of Marian R. Byrnes Park. Listening stations along the walk will focus our attention to sounds via hydrophones, contact microphones, and culminate with a live performance. |
