The Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology presents Soundwalks – quiet events leading groups to explore their relationship as listeners in the acoustic environment. This soundwalk, led by artist and educator Eric Leonardson, will focus on night sounds around the Wauconda Area Library — a blend of forest and wetland landscapes. The walk is open to all listeners, no experience necessary. Join us and learn the basics of acoustic ecology as you explore your backyard soundscape!

On April 26 the Illinois News Bureau published Jodi Heckel’s feature with MSAE founder and co-chair Eric Leonardson on the benefits of soundwalks. On April 27 and 28 Leonardson is a guest of the Sonified Sustainability Festival at University of Illinois, in Champaign-Urbana where he leads soundwalks in Meadowbrook Park on Thursday, and Anita Purves Nature Center and Busey Woods on Friday.
